I came to Jennie after receiving some unexpected and harsh feedback from one of the people on my team. I was in full defense mode when I showed up to our first call. As we worked together, Jennie helped me understand what this feedback was really triggering in me on a deep level and how that was getting in the way of moving forward and improving the situation.
Once I could clearly see the role I played and discuss this in the safe and non-judgemental environment that coaching provides, I also started to see the solutions that were much more aligned with who I want to be as a leader. This clarity helped me challenge myself to rise into that role with purpose, vulnerability, and a lot of self-compassion. The awareness totally shifted my relationship with the person I am managing and our results are even better, without me having to tightly manage the process. My employee’s openness and trust in me as a leader has increased and I learned recently that she even shared with others we work with how much she is grateful to be on my team and respects my ability to adapt. This process of growth has really worked and been extremely fulfilling for me as a leader!
